In a significant coaching coup, former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has left his position as the bowling coach at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the same capacity, pending an official announcement.
"Yes, Arun has joined LSG and a formal announcement is expected soon," a source close to the franchise told PTI on condition of anonymity.
After a disappointing 2025 season, Arun ended his association with Kolkata Knight Riders as the franchise finished 8th.
As the aftermath of an underwhelming run in the 2025 edition, the three-time IPL-winning franchise is undergoing a notable overhaul of its coaching staff. Abhishek Nayar and Dwayne Bravo are all set to call the shots.

Hence, Chandrakant Pandit and Arun, the two veterans, parted ways.
Likewise, LSG are also making modifications to their support staff after a seventh-place finish in the last edition. The LSG bowling was underwhelming during the last season and the absence of India's fastest bowler, Mayank Yadav, from all but two games added to its woes.
Highly esteemed bowling coach Arun has left an indelible mark on Indian cricket with his tactical mind and exceptional ability to nurture talented speedsters.
Meanwhile, the two key figures' future in the LSG setup hangs in the balance with decisions pending on the potential renewal of contracts for mentor Zaheer Khan and head coach Justin Langer.
Zaheer, a renowned Indian pace legend, has been associated with LSG for one year and after the franchise's dreadful campaign during the 2025 season, many questions have been raised about whether his tenure will be extended.
Meanwhile, Langer, a formidable key figure in the LSG setup, has overseen the team for a couple of seasons, also awaiting a decision on his future.
