Caribbean Premier League: Saint Lucia Kings finally ended the wait of 11 years to lift their first-ever Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title, defeating defending champions, Guyana Amazon Warriors, in a thrilling summit clash.

With this triumph Saint Lucia became the fifth team to lift the CPL, finally breaking their run as the only original franchise yet to claim the title.

Aaron Jones stole the spotlight in the electrifying CPL 2024 final, guiding the Saint Lucia Kings to their championship title. His composed batting display paved the way for a thrilling six-wicket victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Chasing 139 for victory, the CPL 2024 final witnessed a surprising turnaround, courtesy of a pivotal 88-run partnership between Roston Chase and Aaron Jones. At 51/4 in 9.5 overs, the Kings' title aspirations seemed shaky, especially after losing captain Faf du Plessis. However, Chase and Jones's calm and calculated stand revitalized their chase.

Chase and Jones blasted 47 runs in the 16th and 17th overs, dramatically shifting the momentum. This explosive burst reduced the target to a manageable 19 runs from 18 balls, setting the stage for a thrilling finale and the duo comfortably guided their side to win with 11 balls to spare.

Here is how fans reacted:

Earlier, Saint Lucia Kings, having won the toss, chose to bowl first and initially dominated the Guyana Amazon Warriors. By the 18th over, the Kings had restricted the Warriors to 102/7.

However, the Warriors staged a late resurgence, scoring 36 crucial runs in the final two overs to finish with a more competitive 138. This impressive late surge gave Guyana a fighting chance in the Caribbean Premier League 2024 final.
