An associate member of the ICC (International Cricket Council), Cricket Iceland is often to make quirky remarks on social media to garner attention of cricket fans. In their latest attempt for gaining engagement, Iceland cricket has ended up offending fans (mostly from Pakistan) after they offered to host the upcoming edition of the Champions Trophy.
Notably, Pakistan have been assigned the host of Champions Trophy. However, according to a report in Dainik Jagran, the tournament will be shifted to Dubai as Indian Cricket Team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan due to the stance of their government. The report further stated that a 'hybrid model' could also be adopted in case shifting the venue is not materialised.

On Monday, Iceland cricket posted a picture of a letter to ICC for offering to host the tournament if the venue change is in contention. Check out the post here:
We are not people who hold back. We have today issued our bid to host the Champions Trophy of 2025, and we look forward to hearing what Greg Barclay of @ICC has to say about it. pic.twitter.com/EsRzsikCqF

Iceland Cricket, recently, also attempted to troll former Pakistan captain Babar Azam in a reply to a post.
Responding to a post, which read "What is something that still hasn't gone back to normal after the pandemic?", Iceland Cricket replied, saying: "The batting average of Babar Azam".
