Champions Trophy 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the global trophy tour of the Champions Trophy 2025 will be flagged off in Islamabad, Pakistan on Saturday, with the silverware stopping off at iconic sites in the capital city ahead of its journey across the globe.
According to various media reports, ICC announced a modified plan for the trophy tour after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) opposed the trophy being toured in Muzaffarabad, Skardu and the Hunza Calley.
The trophy will be shown during its opening day in popular landmarks- Daman-e-Koh, Faisal Mosque and the Pakistan Monument, where it will be accompanied by former international Shoaib Akhtar.
The BCCI strongly protested a decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold the trophy tour in Skardu, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad, all located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The trophy tour will also include a stop in India before finally returning to Pakistan, where the highly anticipated tournament will begin.
After its launch in Islamabad, the Champions Trophy Global Trophy Tour will embark on a journey to showcase the diverse cultures of participating nations. The trophy will visit Afghanistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England, and India, highlighting the unique spirit and passion of each country.
