There was a major security breach at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium on Monday during the match between New Zealand and Bangladesh, where a pitch invader evaded all security to find his way in on the ground and tried to hug the Blackcaps player Rachin Ravindra.
The incident happened, as New Zealand was chasing a score with in-form Rachin, this incident raised questions about the security measures at the stadium.
During the match, a pitch intruder suddenly burst into the field with a picture in his hands and directly approached Ravindra. The New Zealand batter looked shocked and angry at the sudden disturbance and tried to sidestep the overenthusiastic fan.
Although the broadcast cameras deliberately avoided showing the pitch invader, the disruption caused by the incident was evident on live television. The commotion prompted Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra to pause and share a concerned conversation about what had just transpired.

The security team reacted very quickly and dashed out onto the field to catch the pitch invader and quickly escort him away from the premises. This quick action ensured that the match could continue smoothly. Notably, this was the first occurrence of such a security breach during the ongoing tournament in Pakistan.
Ravindra's outstanding century played a pivotal role in New Zealand's five-wicket victory over Bangladesh, securing their spot in the semifinals. This result had significant implications, as it also confirmed India's place in the last four, ultimately leading to the elimination of both Pakistan and Bangladesh from the ICC tournament.
