ICC Champions Trophy: The 2025 Champions Trophy, originally slated to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), may be relocated to a neutral venue. This development stems from India's reluctance to send its team to Pakistan, citing concerns over player safety.

As per the report in Sports Tak, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering multiple financial scenarios for the 2025 Champions Trophy, having prepared three separate budgets.

In a development that could have far-reaching importance for Pakistan cricket, the ICC is reportedly mulling over alternative venues – including Dubai, Sri Lanka, and South Africa – for the 2025 Champions Trophy, potentially skipping Pakistan as the original host.

"The Champions Trophy hosting rights are with Pakistan but the ICC is still exploring options and has accordingly, prepared three budgets for three different models," a report in Sports Tak stated.

"The Indian Govt hasn't yet cleared BCCI to travel to Pakistan; chances are almost nil so the ICC is also working realistically on the last two options - Hybrid and moving it out of Pakistan altogether," it further read.

Reports suggest that the 2025 Champions Trophy may adopt a hybrid hosting model, with Dubai emerging as a potential co-host. Under this arrangement, all of India's matches would be held in Dubai, ensuring the team's participation without requiring them to travel to Pakistan.

However, there are many reports in various media outlets stating that the PCB has issued a statement refuting claims that the 2025 Champions Trophy final will be relocated from Pakistan. The PCB denies any truth to reports suggesting a change in venue.

PCB spokesperson has addressed the conjecture surrounding the 2025 Champions Trophy, categorically rejecting reports of venue changes and reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to hosting the entire tournament.

“Despite the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, the PCB remains steadfast in its stance to ensure a successful and uninterrupted tournament. There is absolutely no truth to the reports suggesting that the Champions Trophy final could be moved outside Pakistan," a PCB spokesperson was quoted as saying by DunyaNews.

The PCB spokesperson also expressed trust in the board's willingness to host the event, noting that preparations are fully on track to ensure a seamless and thriving conduct of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

"We are working diligently to ensure that all preparations for the tournament are on track, and we are confident that Pakistan will be able to host a memorable event,” he added.
