Sanju Samson in CSK? The Sanju Samson trade-off is becoming 'talk of the internet' with IPL mini-auctions likely to take place after a couple of months. Rajasthan Royals, who are currently mulling over their captain's 'supposed' exit, have not stated anything officially; however, the trade-off is very much on cards with the franchise exploring its best options. As per a report by Cricbuzz, CSK denied RR's proposal to get Samson for one of their star players, as the deal is likely to meet a dead-end.

Who did Rajasthan Royals ask for?

The report has further stated that franchise's lead owner Manoj Badale has asked either Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, or Shivam Dube. Seeing the combination not working out, Badale has reached out to all nine other IPL teams, taking charge of negotiations himself.

However, CSK, who are known to keep their star players close to them, have made it clear that leaving even one of them is out of the question. The only way CSK can get hold of Samson is through a cash deal if Rajasthan Royals agree.

"Letting him go has been one of the most challenging decisions for me. During the England series, I told him over dinner that I was still not over it. If I could change one thing in the IPL, I would change the rule of releasing players every three years," Samson had told Star Sports before last IPL season.

Sanju Samson likely to leave RR

It has been reported earlier that Samson had informed the franchise that he wants to be released ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. Samson conveyed his decision to the RR management soon after the conclusion of IPL 2025.
