Chennai Super Kings have an elated camp as they have England all-rounder Ben Stokes at their disposal for the Indian Premier League 2023.

CSK made the costly purchase of Stokes for Rs 16.25 Cr as all-rounders were in huge demand at IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi. Another big purchase for CSK was for New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson for Rs 1 Cr. Barring Stokes and Jamieson, the franchise signed domestic talents including Ajinkya Rahane for Rs 50 lakh,  Bhagath Varma (Rs 20 lakh), Ajay Mandal (Rs 20 lakh), Nishant Sindhu (Rs 60 lakh) and Shaik Rasheed (Rs 20 lakh).

With Stokes in the squad, CSK will be at ease as he will be a major boost in the team following the retirement of Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who has now joined the side as batting coach.

CSK finished at the ninth spot in the last edition only above bottom-placed Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the auction they released eight players as a result of their dismal 2022 season.

Chennai Super Kings full squad: Bhagath Varma, Ajay Mandal, Kyle Jamieson, Nishant Sindhu, Shaik Rasheed, Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni (c), Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Subhranshu Senapati, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Chowdhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Simarjeet Singh, Deepak Chahar, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana.
