CSK vs SRH IPL 2025: Ex-India cricketer Virender Sehwag has reckoned that it looked like the Chennai Super Kings just wanted to end the match and go home and had no intention to spend time on the crease and score runs and that Ravindra Jadeja's batting with a poor strike rate should bat deep and score runs instead of just getting dismissed cheaply. The Chennai-based franchise suffered their fourth consecutive loss in their backyard during the ongoing season and is thus lying at the last position in the points table.

Sehwag revealed that Jadeja should have stayed on one end since it was quite tough to bat on that surface, where the batters are allowed to play their natural game.

“Wasn’t I saying that I feel like going home midway through the tournament? CSK’s batters are also perhaps thinking that way. Their batters are wondering when they will get back home," Sehwag was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.

“When will the tournament end? At least one of them should have taken responsibility. Jadeja has got a useless strike rate, but at least try to stay out there till the 15th or 18th over," he added.

Jadeja batted at a woeful strike rate of 126.76 after playing in nine matches this season, which was quite less than his career strike rate of 129.56.

The MS Dhoni-led side made changes in their batting lineup as they had decided to drop Rachin Ravindra from their playing XI.

Ayush Mhatre replaced him as the opener and that left the host searching for a No.3 batter. For their clash against SRH, they made left-field option Sam Curran as their No.3 batter.

“I can’t understand what Sam Curran is doing at No.3 in this line-up. He has played up the order for sure, he has batted No.4 in ILT20 and he has played that role intelligently. But, in this line-up, when you have Brevis, play him at No.3," he added.

“Then Dube can come in next, followed by Jadeja, Sam Curran and Deepak Hooda. They are missing Ruturaj Gaikwad in this line-up, he used to make runs in Chennai consistently," he concluded.
