Cricket World Cup 2023: In the ongoing clash between Bangladesh and South Africa at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, Quinton de Kock played the innings of his life. In his 150th ODI appearance for the Proteas, de Kock achieved a significant milestone by notching up his 20th ODI century.
Quinton de Kock's explosive innings of 174 runs from 140 balls, studded with 15 fours and seven sixes helped South Africa post a formidable total of 382. The knock marked his third century in the ongoing World Cup, an impressive feat that shattered a record held by Adam Gilchrist for 16 years.
Highest Individual Score By Wicket-Keeper In WC
De Kock's phenomenal score of 174 runs set a new benchmark in World Cup history as it became the highest individual score by a wicket-keeper, surpassing Adam Gilchrist's 149 runs in the 2007 final against Sri Lanka. MS Dhoni currently leads the list in all ODIs with a score of 183 unbeaten.

Most 150+ By Wicket-Keeper In ODIs
Furthermore, De Kock's performance also propelled him to the top of the list for the most 150+ scores by a wicket-keeper in ODIs. He now has three 150+ scores, leaving behind Gilchrist and Jos Buttler, who have two each.
Second-Best Individual Score For South Africa In WC
Quinton's 174 runs also stand as the second-best individual score for South Africa in World Cup history, with only Gary Kirsten's unbeaten 188 against UAE surpassing it. The incredible performance by De Kock marked his third century in the tournament, making him the sole player with multiple centuries in this World Cup.
Second Most 100s By Wicket-Keeper In WC
De Kock also broke AB de Villiers' record for the most hundreds by a wicket-keeper in a single ODI World Cup edition for South Africa. With three centuries, he ranks second in the list of most tons by a wicket-keeper in a World Cup, trailing only Kumar Sangakkara, who has five.
Adding to his accolades, De Kock also became the youngest South African player to reach 20 ODI centuries, surpassing De Villiers. The feat was achieved by De Kock at the age of 30 years and 311 days, making him younger than De Villiers, who accomplished it at the age of 31 years and 10 days.
South Africa continued their impressive batting display in the World Cup, posting a massive total of 382/5 against Bangladesh in their fifth match. Heinrich Klaasen added fireworks with a quick 90 in the end to help South Africa add 144 runs in the last 10 overs. South Africa's aggressive batting has yielded four 300-plus scores in the tournament.
