DC vs GT, IPL 24: Delhi Capitals pacer Rasikh Salam Dar has been reprimanded for breaching IPL's Code of Conduct with his aggressive celebration during their match against Gujarat Titans on Wednesday, April 24.
Rasikh put up an effective performance with the ball as Delhi defeated Gujarat Titans by just four runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The 24-year-old pacer finished with the bowling figures of 3/44 in his four overs as DC successfully defended their 224-run total to clinch their fourth win of this season.

“Dar committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” read a statement from IPL.
Article 2.5 of IPL’s Code of Conduct deals with “language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player.”
As per IPL code of conduct, “Article 2.5 includes any language, action or gesture used by a Player and directed towards a batter upon his/her dismissal which has the potential to provoke an aggressive reaction from the dismissed batter, whether or not any reaction results, or which could be considered to disparage or demean the dismissed batter, regardless of whether the batter him/herself feels disparaged or demeaned (in other words, a ‘send-off’)”.
Without limitation, Article 2.5 includes:
(a) excessive celebration directed at and in close proximity to the dismissed batter;
(b) verbally abusing the dismissed batter; and
(c) pointing or gesturing towards the pavilion.
The instance took place in the 19th over of GT's run chase bowled by Rasikh Salam when they needed 37 runs and Sai Kishore smashed him for 18 runs in the first five balls.
The pacer made a comeback as he bowled Kishore out on the final delivery and came up with a fiery and expressive celebration to which the batter didn't bother to react.
The visitors then needed 19 runs in the final over but Mukesh Kumar did well enough to take his team over the line as Rashid Khan fell short despite an appreciable effort.
After being put into bat first, Delhi posted a mammoth total of 224/4 in their 20 overs with skipper Rishabh Pant playing a memorable knock.
Pant remained unbeaten on 88 runs off just 43 balls on the back of five fours and eight sixes, stitching a 113-run stand with Axar Patel (66 off 43) for the fourth wicket.

David Miller took them back on track by playing a fiery knock of 55 runs in just 23 balls, smashing six fours and three sixes.
