DC vs MI, IPL 2025 HIGHLIGHTS: Karun Nair's Heroics In Vain As MI Register Thrilling 12-Run Win Over DC

Yet another run-out and that is the game for Mumbai Indians. They have won it by 12 runs. Mohit hit the ball on the leg side and tried to steal a single but Mitchell Santner effected a terrific run-out to seal the game for MI. He ran, jumped and hit the bull's eye as Mohit was found well short of his crease at non-strikers' end. 

Mitchell Santner picked a wicket in the over but leaked 15 runs in it. Delhi Capitals need 23 runs in 12 balls.

Karn Sharma has brought Mumbai Indians back in the game. He returned figures of 3 for 36 in his qouta of four overs. Delhi Capitals need 42 runs off 24 balls. Trent Boult has the ball in hand. Here we go...

Jasprit Bumrah removed Axar Patel on the fourth ball of the 13th over while Karn Sharma dismissed Tristan Stubbs on the third ball of the very next over. Mumbai Indians are back in the game. Delhi Capitals need 61 runs in 39 balls.

Karn Sharma has dismissed Abhishek Porel and that is a really good catch from Naman Dhir at square leg. He ran to his right and took the catch on the edge on the boundary line. Porel fell for 33 off 25 balls. Delhi Capitals need 87 runs off 58 balls.

8.3- It was a loud shout for LBW against Karun Nair but umpire was unconvinced. Mumbai Indians then decided to go upstairs. Karun Nair went for a reverse sweep and the ball hit his pad. While the impact was on the line of the stunps, ball-tracking suggested it would miss the off-stump. MI lost a review. 

What an increadible comeback this is for Karun Nair! He made a comeback to IPL after three years and scored a 22-ball fifty. What makes it more insteresting that he slammed India's ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah for 18 runs in the over.  Sensational stuff!

This is extremely poor bowling bowling from Trent Boult. He was hit for three fours by Karun Nair in the over and to add insult to injury, the left-arm pacer even bowled a wide that ran away for a four down the leg side. A total of 18 runs came off the over.

There was enough swing for Deepak Chahar in the first over. He picked up the wicket of Jake Fraser-McGurk and then also troubled Karun Nair in the next over. Six runs came off the over. Mumbai Indians are off to a good start in first over.

11 runs came off Mukesh Kumar's final over. Mumbai Indians have got a 200 plus total on the board. he pitch looks good to bat on, but given MI's solid bowling attack, Delhi Capitals need to start well in the chase.

Asutosh Sharma and Mukesh Kumar collided with each other while trying to go for a catch inside the circle inbetween the short third man and backward point. Both of them have now been taken ot of the ground after attending by the physio.

Kuldeep Yadav ends his qouta of four overs with figures of 4/23. On a good batting track, this is a superb spell from Kuldeep. He kept all thee Mumbai batters in check and even dismissed set batters Ryan Rickleton and Suryakumar Yadav.

Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Suryakumar Yadav on the first ball of his third over. Suryakumar danced down the track but ended up hitting the delivery into the hands of the fielder at long-off. He departed off 40 off 28 balls.

Kuldeep Yadav is bowling really well. He conceded only six runs in his second over. He even troubled an experienced batter like Suryakumar Yadav in the over. Both Tilak Varma and SKY were really cautious in their batting approach against the spinner.

"We'll bowl first. We're chasing well, and it's the first match over here this season so don't know how the pitch will play. Don't trust numbers from the past too much. Challenge is to follow the plan properly and to be brave even if you get hit for a six. Faf is injured," said Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel. 

A fit-again Bumrah didn't look rusty in his first game in three months. The home top-order would have a slightly difficult challenge in terms of quality as to what they have faced till now. The Bumrah vs Rahul would be a mouth-watering contest where a supreme artist would try to outwit a technician par excellence with a wide range of strokes in his reportoire. 

For MI, the failure of Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma and vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav has proved to be a huge issue. While Tilak and Surya have enjoyed some sporadic success, the haven't been authoritative. 

Against MI, Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel might once again open the bowling against Rohit Sharma, who doesn't enjoy a match-up against left-arm spinners or wrist spinners. If Axar brings himself on first up or gives the ball to either Kuldeep or Vipraj, it will be interesting battle to watch. 

At the same time, Rohit has enjoyed a degree of success against Mitchell Starc and what the Australian has up against his sleeves will be there for everyone to see. 

Kuldeep Yadav, whom former Australian skipper Michael Clarke, termed as the best bowler in the tournament so far, has finished his qouta in all games, taking eight wickets at a brilliant economy rate of less than six runs per over. 

An out of form Rohit Sharma will strive to keep himself relevant going forward in IPL 2025, when he is challenged by Delhi Capitals' effective troika of spinners in Mumbai Indians' match. Rohit has scored only 38 runs across four innings in the ongoing season.
