India Women's National Cricket Team vs England Women's National Cricket Team: Fostering a match-winning knock for India in the first ODI against England, all-rounder Deepti Sharma made a stunning revelation that she drew inspiration from swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant for her one-handed shot that went for a six and took everyone by surprise.

Deepti remained unbeaten in her knock as she guided India Women's side to a solid four-wicket win in the first match of the series. Notably, she also surpassed Veda Krishnamurthy's 52* against West Indies and set up the highest score (62*) by an Indian batter in Women's cricket.

Deepti in her post-match presentation, stated that she was looking for an opportunity like this in which she could finish the game for India.

"I was waiting for an opportunity like this. I wanted to build a partnership with Jemimah, score 5-6 runs an over consistently. (On her sweep shots) I have worked a lot on it early days, and it helps on this kind of track. (On the one-handed six) I play these shots in practice. I picked that up from Rishabh Pant. We have played in England before, we enjoy these conditions."

Deepti's 90-run stand with fellow batter Jemimah Rodrigues was one of the main factors in India winning the match.
