SRH vs DC, IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins unleashed a merciless onslaught that left the Delhi Capitals (DC) top-order shaken to their core and catapulted his name into the record books.

During his team’s 11th league match of the ongoing season against DC on Monday, Cummins, one of the most feared seamers, entered the history books by becoming only the fourth SRH bowler after Jagadeesha Suchith, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami to take wicket on the first ball of an IPL match.

Cummins started his red-hot masterclass when he struck gold on the very first delivery of the match, dismissing Delhi Capitals' opener Karun Nair for a golden duck as Ishan Kishan nattily pouched the catch behind the stumps.

The SRH captain again peppered DC's wounds, snuffing out Faf du Plessis' resistance just four balls later as the former South African captain edged Cummins' delivery to Kishan.

Cummins, who was thriving on a scorching form, showed no signs of slowing as he struck again on the first ball of his third over, plucking the wicket of Abhishek Porel.

The 31-year-old speedster dismissed a total of three batters in the powerplay and it benefited him to script history by becoming the first-ever skipper to scythe three wickets in the first six overs of an IPL innings.
