Duleep Trophy 2024: India's star wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan was surprisingly included in India C's squad for the second-round Duleep Trophy 2024 clash against India B in Anantapur on Thursday. Kishan didn't feature in the first-round matches due to a groin injury he sustained while representing Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament. Ever since the BCCI revealed the Indian team for the first Test against Bangladesh, the Duleep Trophy squads underwent multiple changes but Kishan wasn't part of any squad. And that's why his fans were shocked to see his name being there in India C's playing XI for the clash against India B.

He was part of the India D team but Sanju Samson replaced him during the first-round matches. The other thing that confused the fans was the fact that BCCI had revealed that they wouldn't be making any changes to the India C squad.

The BCCI announced the squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024 second-round matches earlier this week, where players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Kuldeep Yadav were notable omissions.

The BCCI released a statement and said, "The Men's Selection Committee has announced certain changes for the second round of the Duleep Trophy starting from 12th September in Anantapur." India A skipper Gill, Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep, and Akash Deep are now a part of the Test squad against Bangladesh and won't be participating in the domestic tournament anymore.

Pratham Singh (Railways) will be replacing Gill, Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA) will replace KL Rahul, and SK Rasheed (Andhra CA) will replace Dhruv Jurel. Left-arm pacer Shams Mulani will be replacing Kuldeep Yadav whereas Aqib Khan (UPCA) will be Arshdeep Singh's replacement.

Mayank Agarwal would be leading India A.
