IND vs NZ, 3rd Test: In a surprising turn of events, there are speculations that the BCCI is all set to make bold decisions after the Men in Blue suffered a home Test series loss to New Zealand and is thinking about phasing out some of the star players from the Test squad after the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia.
It's not a secret anymore that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are entering their late 30s and are currently going through a lean patch. It should be noted here that Virat had scored just 93 runs in the three-match Test series against New Zealand, whereas Rohit scored 91 runs.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's Test future in danger
At the same time, according to the Times of India, the Roger Binny-led board might begin to phase out Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja from the Test squad gradually.

"Stocks will be taken certainly, and it could be informal since the team leaves for Australia on November 10. But this has been a huge debacle but, with the Australia series around the corner and the squad already announced, there won't be any tinkering," a BCCI official was quoted as saying to PTI.
"But if India doesn't qualify for the WTC final in England, one can rest assured that all four super seniors won't be on that flight to the UK for the ensuing five-Test series. In any case, all four have likely played their final Test at home together," it revealed.
Initially, there were speculations that these four players would be announcing retirement from the longest format after playing in the 2025 WTC final, just like they did after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup earlier this year. But now the board is thinking about taking strict action and there are high chance that these four players might not go to England to play in the summit clash as well.
Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar were involved in a tense chat
A video went viral on social media where Ajit Agarkar was seen having an intense chat with head coach Gautam Gambhir and thus highlighted that the team might undergo a few changes ahead of the next Test series. They talked for about 15-20 minutes.
