England vs India 2nd Test: Shubman Gill turned down all the talks with an incredible outing in England so far. He has already smashed three centuries in the five-match series so far, and his 161-run knock on Saturday at Edgbaston put India into a strong position in the ongoing second Test.

Gill is the top run-getter in the series with some margin, having smashed 585 runs in just four innings at an average of 146.25. He has the remarkable scores of 147, 269 and 161 under his belt. The Indian skipper hit 13 fours and eight sixes on the fourth day of the match to help India reach 427/6 in their second innings and set the hosts a mammoth target of 608 runs.

Ever since taking over as India’s new Test captain, the 25-year-old from Punjab has been scoring runs consistently and breaking records along the way.

The right-handed batter has already equalled Virat Kohli’s world record of scoring three centuries in the first two Tests as captain. Gill also became the first Indian batter in Test history to score more than 400 runs in a single Test match.
