England vs India 5th Test: India set England a 374-run target in the ongoing fifth and final Test at the Oval. England are 2-1 ahead in the five-match Test series and need 324 more runs to win.
India came up with a remarkable batting effort in the second innings on the third day. Resuming the action from 75/2, the visitors were put ahead by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep. The duo unleashed a promising attack to frustrate the English bowlers.
While Jaiswal was heading towards his hundred, Akash Deep stepped up with a crucial performance and ended up smashing his maiden Test fifty. Having been sent to bat at no.4 as a nightwatchman, the star pacer ended up playing an impressive knock of 66 runs on the back of 12 fours. Jaiswal went on to smash his sixth Test century. The duo stitched a 107-run partnership for the third wicket.
