Women's T20 World Cup 2026: The ECB has announced a 15-member squad for the tournament. The tournament will be held in England and Wales. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt leads from the front. Left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman's selection is the highlight. She will play alongside fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer.
The 16-year-old Corteen-Coleman grabbed everyone's attention with a four-fer during the 2024 Charlotte Edwards Cup. She bowled as many balls as wickets taken. Since then, she has performed brilliantly for Southern Brave during the Hundred. England has retained their core players for their first home ICC tournament. They previously won the ODI World Cup in 2017.
The team consists of three left-arm spinners: Corteen-Coleman, Sophie Ecclestone, and Linson Smith. Charlie Dean has been appointed vice-captain. Senior batter Tammy Beaumont has been dropped. Lauren Bell will spearhead the fast bowling attack. Issy Wong and Lauren Filer will join her.
Wong's selection marks another step in her comeback to international cricket. She returned to the T20I team last year after being snubbed from the 2024 T20 World Cup. That omission was due to a lean patch in 2023.
Nat Sciver-Brunt will lead the side in her seventh T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old Danni Wyatt Hodge has been in sublime form. She will play in her eighth T20 World Cup.
The Women's T20 World Cup 2026 will start on 12th June and run until 5th July. For the first time, all 12 teams will play 33 matches in a month.

England have been placed in Group B with New Zealand, the West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, and Sri Lanka. They will face Sri Lanka in their tournament opener at Edgbaston. England will try to repeat their heroics from the 2009 edition when they won the first title in their backyard. They finished as runners-up three times: in 2012, 2014, and 2018.
Before the upcoming mega event, the Nat-Sciver Brunt-led side will play a bilateral series against New Zealand. They will also face India to prepare for the World Cup.
