RCB vs GT IPL 2026 Final: Ex-India cricketer Virender Sehwag has emphasized that the type of cricket that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been playing is quite brilliant, and even though the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad might be the Gujarat Titans' home ground, they don't really have a home advantage, according to their plans. They have been one of the most consistent sides at their backyard this year, having won their last four matches here. This also includes their group-stage match against the same opponent as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
But unlike in the group stage, the BCCI, along with the curators, controls pitch selection for the playoff matches. The "so-called" home side in the playoffs is just a logistical notion that doesn't affect pitch decision-making at all.
“The kind of cricket that RCB are playing and have been playing has been quite exceptional. In my view, it’s a straight 50-50. This is GT’s home ground, but because it is a final, they cannot craft any pitch they want, so they would not seize that advantage," Virender Sehwag was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.

“Since it is a final, BCCI will construct the wicket, ensuring a level playing field. GT must replicate the cricket they showcased in Qualifier 2 to overcome RCB in the final," he said.
The Rajat Patidar-led side clinched their first trophy at the same stadium last year, while their overall performance at this venue swung back and forth. Since 2021, they have battled in eight matches here, triumphing in four and stumbling in as many.

“Because the final unfolds in Ahmedabad, GT gains a slight advantage for sure. Also, if they charge in as they did during Qualifier 2, they can even emerge as favorites," Manoj Tiwary was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.
