With the announcement of India's Asia Cup squad by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), there are many players who will make their comeback in the ODI format for Men in Blue ahead of the crucial home World Cup.

BCCI has picked a 17-member squad for the Asia Cup and chief selector Ajit Agarkar has mentioned that the World Cup squad will be around these guys only.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat and Sanju Samson have been dropped from the India squad that was picked for the three-match ODI series against West Indies.

Here is the list of players who will make ODI comeback in Asia Cup 2023 for India:

Jasprit Bumrah: The pacer has recently returned to the Indian side for the ongoing T20I series against Ireland. He is slated to make his ODI return in India's opening clash against Pakistan in Asia Cup on September 2. He played his last ODI against England in July, 2022. The 29-year-old will lead India's pace attack in the upcoming tournament.

Shreyas Iyer: The middle-order has been heavily missed by the Indian side after Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson failed to take the No. 4 batting role. Iyer will return after recovering from a back injury. He missed the ODI series against Australia and also the Indian Premier League earlier this year. He was also not part of the West Indies and Ireland tours. Iyer's return will bolster India's middle order ahead of the showpiece event.

KL Rahul: The wicketkeeper-batter will further boost Men in Blue's batting order in the continental cup. He was out of action for months after suffering a thigh injury while playing for Lucknow Super Giants during the IPL. He is expected to play at some stage in the tournament as he picked up a fresh niggle other than his original injury. He is likely to feature in India's playing 11 with Sanju Samson named his reserve.

Mohammed Shami: The veteran pacer will return to the ODI side after being rested for the West Indies tour following the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia. He will be Bumrah's partner in crime in the six-team competition.

Prasidh Krishna: The 27-year-old has joined India's T20I side in the series against Ireland. He will be the fourth pace-bowling option for India after Bumrah, Shami and Shardul Thakur.

India's squad for Asia Cup: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya (VC), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
