GT vs CSK 2025, IPL: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
CSK have dropped R Ashwin and bought in Deepak Hooda while Gerald Coetzee replaced Kagiso Rabada for Gujarat Titans.
The Titans are one victory away from locking their berth at the top of the table, but a defeat could see them drop out of the top two contention.
On the other hand, Super Kings would be looking to get off the bottom of the table and end their dismal run on a positive note.
Speaking at the time of toss, CSK captain MS Dhoni said, "We will bat first. It looks nice and hard, will remain the same. It's quite hot, looks like a good track. It's surviving. Every year is a new challenge. It needs a lot of maintainance. Didn't trouble me enough when I was playing international cricket. Chennai is very nice, this is different heat, on the slower side. We are last in the table, we will still remain last, if win or lose. Need to enjoy our cricket. We have one change. Hooda is back. They are a good side, they play authentic cricket. Need to bowl tight lines."
GT skipper Shubman Gill said, "Feels exciting to have that challenge, it's going to be an exciting series against England for us. In the last match we were in the game till the 16th or 17th over. We were looking to bowl first today. Looks a good wicket to bat on, it won't change much. We have one change, Gerald Coetzee comes in for Kagiso Rabada."
