GT vs LSG IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant is currently leading Lucknow Super Giants from the front in IPL 2025. LSG bought him for a whopping amount of Rs 27 crore during the mega auction last year but has been seen struggling with the bat this season. Due to his woeful form in IPL 2025, a journalist reckoned that LSG would let him go, despite him being the most expensive player in the tournament's history and Rishabh didn't take that news in the right stride.

He took to his official X account and slammed the news by saying, “I understand fake News gives more traction To content but let’s not build everything around it. Little sense and credible news will help more rather making fake news with agenda. Thanks have a good day. Let’s be responsible and sensible what we put out on social media."

Pant would be leading the Lucknow-based franchise from the front on Thursday in their 13th group stage match on Thursday. The match is currently being held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After playing in 12 matches till now, except for just one fifty, Pant has scored just 135 runs. He is expected to play a huge role on Thursday and will aim to end his stint on a high.

LSG is out of the playoff race

The Rishabh Pant-led side has been knocked out of the race to the playoffs. They lost to SRH by six wickets during their previous match in their backyard and that ended their hopes of staying alive. During that clash, openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram scored fifties each but their bowlers couldn't restrict the SRH batters, who on the back of Abhishek Sharma's match-winning knock of 59 runs off 20 balls helped the team chase down the mammoth target of 206 runs even after losing just four wickets.
