England vs India 3rd Test: England's star batter Harry Brook gave away his wicket at the crucial juncture during the third Test against India at Lord's on Sunday. Legendary batter Kumar Sangakkara slammed Brook for his dismissal and came up with words of criticism as well.

Brook came out in the middle after England lost Ollie Pope in the 12th over early in the first session of the fourth day. He tried to attack the Indian bowlers with an ultra-aggressive approach and smashed Akash Deep for two fours and six in the same over; however, the approach didn't pay off for long as he lost his wicket to the same bowler while attempting a premeditated sweep, leaving England reeling at 87-4.

Sangakkara wasn't impressed with Brook and said that it was not Bazball, but arrogance.

"I wonder if they've changed fine leg fine, and he wanted to go square. That is not a scoop. The scoop he plays with ease, and this is a sweep, normally played off a spinner, and that was way too much room," said Sangakkara on air.

"15 minutes to go for lunch, counterattack started. This is not smart batting.

"Brook has scooped, and they've given him a gap, so flick it. I think it's a bit of arrogance, not even overconfidence, it's not even Bazball, it's just arrogance. You're counter-attacking and that is a big, big mistake," said Sangakkara. It is to be noted that Akash kept attacking the stumps and was rewarded when Brook missed a sweep for his middle stump to be shattered.

The hosts came out in the second session with experienced batter Joe Root and skipper Ben Stokes at the crease. The duo showed great composure and stitched an all-important partnership of 67 runs for the fifth wicket. While the score went past the 150-run mark, the Indian spinners came into play and created a bit of pressure on the English batters.

The partnership was broken in the 43rd over as Washington Sundar got his first wicket of the inning, removing him for 40. To give India an upper hand just before the tea break, Sundar removed Jamie Smith, dismissing him for just 8 runs.
