Champions Trophy 2025: India's star batter Shubman Gill has intensified his practice for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy as he was seen smashing huge sixes in a practice session in Mohali. Gill is expected to play a key role during the mega-event which will be held later this month. He was in sublime form in his Ranji Trophy return match.
He did play a gritty knock for Punjab in the match against Karnataka and was also seen sweating it out in Mohali before the three-match ODI series against England and the mega-event. The Punjab Cricket Association took to their official X account and shared a video in which Gill was seen working on his timing and his skills for the upcoming series. He was initially seen struggling to play the reverse sweep as the fielder tried to stop him.
He then began playing lofted shots and then went back to reverse sweep as he was finally able to crack it the second time.

Gill is raring to go in the Champions Trophy
He is also gearing up for the upcoming Champions Trophy and reckoned that he is eagerly waiting to play in the tournament. He also revealed that they can't afford to lose any match.
“I’m very hungry, and it is something that you always dream of as a kid, and I’ve played one ICC tournament and came very close to winning a senior men’s trophy," he said.
“There is no space for defeat only. I think the top teams are playing, and it’s very exciting and very grueling, and you know that you don’t have any margin of error, so that is very exciting" he concluded.
The Rohit Sharma-led side will face England for a three-match ODI series and then their Champions Trophy will start from February 20 against Bangladesh.
