The World Test Championship final would continue to be held in England until 2031, as has been revealed by the ICC in a press release on Sunday. The event, which has been held in England since the first edition, will continue to be hosted for the next three editions.
The ICC revealed that the decision was made considering the ECB's record of hosting this event since the last three editions. The WTC summit clash has been held across three venues in England: Southampton in 2021, The Oval in 2023, and Lord's Cricket Ground in 2025.
"The Board also confirmed the awarding of hosting rights for the ICC World Test Championship Finals for the 2027, 2029, and 2031 editions to the England and Wales Cricket Board, following a successful track record in hosting recent finals," the statement released by the ICC said.
As per India Today, the BCCI was hugely interested in hosting the event in India, but that doesn't seem to be possible right now.
Let's take a look at some of the important decisions made by the ICC during the annual conference
