India vs Namibia, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: Ishan Kishan came up with an outstanding effort with the bat during the India vs Namibia match in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, February 12. Kishan's performance helped India get off to a fiery start after they were put into bat first.
Kishan smashed an outstanding half-century in just 20 balls and went on to score 61 runs in 24 deliveries on the back of six fours and five sixes. He became the third Indian batter after Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Sharma to complete 50 within the first six overs of a T20I match for the Indian team on multiple occasions. Despite losing the wicket of Sanju Samson early in the innings, India reached 86/1 at the end of the powerplay.

The 20-ball fifty by Ishan on Thursday is the joint fourth-fastest half-century by an Indian batter in the T20 World Cup. The world record of scoring the fastest fifty in T20 World Cup history is in the name of Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj reached the milestone in just 12 balls against England.

India headed into the match on the back of an impressive 29-run victory in their first match against the USA. On the other hand, Namibia lost their first match against the Netherlands at the same venue. With an aim to maintain their winning run in the competition, India brought back Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the first match due to illness. He replaced Mohammed Siraj, whereas Sanju Samson came in for Abhishek Sharma.
