Pakistan vs Bangladesh, ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025: The ongoing ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025 witnessed a massive controversy during match 3 between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.

While Pakistan were batting first after winning the toss, their former skipper Sana Mir, who was part of the commentary panel, sparked outrage with an on-air remark referencing "Azad Kashmir."

In the viral clip, Mir could be heard introducing a player: "... captaining a very young side. Yes, they have won the qualifiers, but a lot of these players are new. Natalia, who comes from Kashmir, Azad Kashmir, plays a lot of cricket in Lahore. She has to come to Lahore to play most of her cricket there.”

Indian fans quickly reacted, tagging the ICC and BCCI, demanding action and calling for her removal from the commentary panel for mixing politics with sport. As per the ICC rules, politicising cricket could bring in major consequences, and Mir's recent remarks have sparked the debate about commentators maintaining neutrality on international broadcasts.

On the other hand, Pakistan had a disappointing outing with the bat as they were bowled out for just 129 runs in 38.3 overs.

Pakistan's much-awaited clash against arch-rivals India is scheduled to be played in Colombo on Sunday, October 5. India kicked off their campaign with an impressive win over Sri Lanka.

The IND vs PAK match in the Women's WC will be played a few days after a massive controversy erupted between the men's teams of both countries during the Asia Cup 2025. Extending India's stance and solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam Terror Attack, the Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. will not be shaking hands with their Pakistani counterparts.
