Indian team support staff led by head coach Rahul Dravid completed the Triund trek in Dharamsala during the two-day off after the four-wicket win over New Zealand in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video on social media with the caption, "A day off for the squad is a day well spent in the hills for the support staff."

Indian players were not allowed to take the risky trail surrounded by picturesque Himalayan mountains in between the showpiece tournament to avoid any injury concerns. Apart from Dravid, batting and bowling coaches Vikram Rathour and Paras Mhambrey were seen enjoying their time in the mountains.

Dravid mentioned the 'challenges' of the trek but he was mesmerised by the 'breathtaking' view after putting in all the hard work to ascend.

"Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It's a challenging trek, I must admit it. Once you come here, the views are breathtaking, and spectacular. It's incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. Just a great day out as well," said Dravid in the video.

The head coach revealed why players were not allowed to join them on the trek.

"Unfortunately, can't bring the boys up here, a bit too risky walking on those stones. But hopefully, one day when they are not playing (any tournament), I would love for some of the boys to come here and experience this," he added.

Rathour detailed the treak journey and called it a 'little hard' but the view from above justifies all the struggle.

"We are at Triund. Started from a place called Galu. It's beyond McLeod Ganj. When you are climbing up, the last half-an-hour trek is a little hard, but the moment it opens up, everything is worth it," said Rathour.

Dravid talked about the importance of preserving nature for future generations. He hopes to bring his children to the Triund trek in the future.

"There are so many places that are so rich in nature, diversity, places that we can explore, that are still so beautiful and untouched. I hope that we keep it that way and pass on to our next generations for them to enjoy and come and have these walks. I would love my children to do this one day."

India are unbeaten in the tournament with five wins in as many matches. They will next take on defending chapions England at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 29.
