IND vs AUS 1st ODI: The Men in Blue might have lost the 1st ODI to Australia by seven wickets, but Mitchell Marsh was himself left surprised by his own team. While chasing, when he had scored 38 runs and they needed just 29 runs to win the rain-induced game, that's when he started having cramps. Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett then ran towards him to give him some liquids and were seen giving him a bottle of pickle juice along with sports gel.

He looked fine when he had drunk the juice, but was seen making a funny face after drinking the gel as the reaction went viral on X.

He was also asked whether he liked the pickle juice in the post-match presentation ceremony.

To this, he said, “I thought that was one of the sugar carb things. And they’ve done me like a dinner there, so that was awful, but it fixed my cramps, whatever company it was, it was great."

Pickle juice is usually used to treat muscle cramps. Its taste is sour and salty, and it leads to a reaction from the mouth and throat, which misfires nerve signals and causes the muscle to contract, and in a minute, the body can digest fluids.

Marsh scored a match-winning knock of 46 runs and helped the team chase down the target in 21.1 overs.

“The weather played its part today. Big thanks to all the crowd that stuck around. I know these days can be really frustrating, but it's nice to get a win. It’s always nice to win at home. I love playing for Australia. The ball was swinging around a little bit. We knew that was going to be the case for both teams, so it was a little bit of a challenge to get through there. Proud of the way our young guys came out and took the game on," he added.

The 2nd ODI will be held in Adelaide next week.
