Alex Carey is playing an excellent knock while complimenting his captain Steve Smith who is anchoring the innings incredibly well. India's attack with, exceptional spin bowlers though, are becoming one dimensional. They need to introduce a pacer soon.

With the wicket of Josh Inglis, India have taken down Australia's most successful batter in the tournament. Jadeja is leading the wicket column with two wickets. 

Wicket! Jadeja has broken the partnership and this is a huge wicket as Marnus was trying to open hands at regular intervals. He trapped him in front to give India a third wicket. Labuschagne departs for 29 runs.

Skipper Smith and Marnus have done an impressive job here with the recovery. They have taken Australia's score past 100. The scoreboard is going at a promising rate at the moment with at least continuous singles around the field. But that's brilliant from Jadeja to bowl a maiden.

Drinks break has been taken and it seems like an injury scare for India as Axar Patel is having an issue with his neck just after throwing the ball towards the stumps.

Probably, the biggest wicket of the entire match - Travis Head falls to Varun Chakaravarthy. In a bid to up the run-rate, Head played one up in the air as Shubman Gill took a tremendous catch. 

Australia are in a hunt for a recovery after losing an early wicket and it's Travis Head once again who is leading the charge. He has had luck on his side so far with a few edges here and there and a catch drop as well but the left-handed batter seems to be enjoying in the middle with a few easy boundaries. 11 runs came off that over from Hardik.

"We'll have a bat. Looks like a pretty dry surface, a pretty dry square, we'll like to get some runs on the board. The guys had a couple of sessions at the academy, ready to go, should be a good contest. Looks a lot drier, it should take more turns. Very good side - India - and we like coming up against them. India haven't made any change in their playing XI for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal match against Australia.

Australia have made two changes in their playing XI for the first semifinal match against India. Cooper Connolly replaced injured Matt Short whereas Tanveer Sangha came in for Spencer Johnson.

Australia have won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the first semifinal at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Both India and Australia are the former Champions Trophy title winners

India won the Champions Trophy in 2013 and shared the title with Sri Lanka in 2002.

Australia won the Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009.

In just nine ODIs against India, Travis Head has amassed 345 runs at an impressive average of 43.13.
His most notable performance came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where his stunning 137-run knock single-handedly snatched the title from India.

He also smashed a century against India in the World Test Championship 2023 final. His consistent performances helped Australia beat India in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

"In the semi-final, we don't know which pitch is going to be played. Whatever happens, we have to adapt and see what is happening. We will play on that. This is not our home, this is Dubai. So, we don't play so many matches here. This is new for us too," Rohit said at the pre-match press conference.

The focus will also be on team India's combination for the all-important semifinal against Australia. They introduced Varun Chakravarthy for the first time in the tournament against New Zealand in their previous match. He picked up a match-winning fifer, leading to a debate about whether he should be included in the team for the semifinal match as well.

Reports claimed that the IND vs AUS semifinal match will be played on a fresh pitch at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium which puts the Men in Blue in a tricky situation about whether to go with four spinners once again or not. Apart from the freshness of the surfaces, the pitches in Dubai are usually slow in nature and have traditionally helped the spinners over the years. 

India have Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh as pace options in the squad.

A spot in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final is at stake for India and Australia as both teams face off in the first semifinal in Dubai. The Men in Blue will also be looking to leave the ghosts of Ahmedabad behind and write a new chapter with a monumental performance against the Aussies in an ICC knockout match.

While Australia emerged on top in a couple of recent ICC knockout matches with wins in the ODI World Cup final and World Test Championship final in 2023, India's latest win against them came in the T20 World Cup 2024 super 8 stage.

With a win today, India would be able to have a shot at yet another ICC title, having won the T20 WC last year.
