India's star batter Shubman Gill continues his sublime touch as he scored yet another ODI century during the second ODI match against Australia at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday.
Gill reached the three-digit mark off 92 balls with a quick single off Sean Abbott in the 33rd over of India’s innings.
This was his sixth ODI century as he provided a remarkable start to India's innings with promising support from Shreyas Iyer (105) and KL Rahul.

With the century, Gill joined star players like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and other legendary batters in the elite list of scoring five or more ODI hundreds in a year.
The former India skipper Virat Kohli is at the top of the list, having breached the 100-run mark five or more times in four calendar years. He achieved the feat in 2012, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Shikhar Dhawan are also part of the list.
Gill also matched Australia legend Ricky Ponting's stunning world record for most ODI centuries scored at home in a single calendar year. Gill, who went past the 1200-run mark in the format, scored four centuries at home, leveling Ponting's 2007 record and Pakistan great Zaheer Abbas, who had first managed the feat back in 1982.
He also became only the fourth batter to reach 800 ODI runs in a single calendar year at home, leaving behind Kohli's 2013 feat of 716 runs and Sachin's 2007 feat of 783 runs. New Zealand's Martin Guptill still stands atop with 973 runs scored in 2015 while Sachin's tally of 957 runs in 1996 stands second.
The star opener has a chance to reach at the top of the ODI rankings.
Pakistan's Babar Azam is the current No. 1 batter in ODIs with 857 rating points in ICC ODI Rankings. Gill just needs to score 22 runs or above in his next innings to take the crown going into the World Cup 2023 as the World No 1 ODI batter.
