India vs Australia, World Cup 2023 Final: The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 has come to its business end with India and Australia set to face off in the final of the tournament.

After a mouth-watering action over 47 matches including two semi-finals throughout the tournament, the two most strong and consistent sides managed to find a place in the summit clash.

While India still remains the only undefeated side in the tournament, having won 10 out of 10 matches, Australia bounced back brilliantly with eight consecutive wins to lock up a high-profile final match against India.

Schedule and Timing

The India vs Australia final match, which is a repeat of the 2003 World Cup final, is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

The toss for the match will take place at 1:30 PM IST whereas the action will begin at 2:00 PM IST.

 

Final qualification

India headed to the semi-final match against New Zealand after winning all of their nine league matches as they were the first team to make it to the final four, having topped the standings after the league stage.

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to qualify for the final.

Australia had a disappointing start to the tournament, having lost their first two matches. They bounced back brilliantly and won their remaining seven matches of the league stage to qualify for the semi-final.

The Men in Yellow outclassed South Africa and defeated them by three wickets in the second semi-final at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to make it to their record eighth final.

What's at stake?

India will be aiming to lift their first ICC title after 12 years, having last won it in 2013 (Champions Trophy).

If India manage to win, that will be India's third World Cup title and second successive at home. They last won the tournament on home soil in 2011.

Australia are the most successful team in the history of the tournament, having won the World Cup five times.

They will be eyeing their 6th title in their record-eighth World Cup final. A win for them will be their second success over India this year in an ICC tournament, having defeated them in the World Test Championship final.

In case the weather makes an interruption in Ahmedabad and doesn't allow the India vs Australia World Cup 2023 final to reach the result on the scheduled day, a reserve day can be taken.
