JE Sports Desk: India and Australia are all set to play the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 at The Oval from June 7. Both teams had a splendid series during the WTC 2021- 2023 window, with India qualifying for the summit clash for the second straight time.

In WTC Final 2021, India failed to lift the title as they faced an eight-wicket loss against Kane Williamson's New Zealand at Southampton.

However, India are back in the fray for their inaugural title after finishing second in the WTC cycle 2021-23 with 127 points, winning 10 Tests, drawing three and losing five (18 matches) to finish with a 58.8 points per cent (PCT).

On the other hand, Australia finished at the top of the standings with 11 wins, five draws and three defeats (19 matches) which earned them 152 points and a PCT of 66.67.


WTC Final 2023 Prize Money

The winner of the India vs Australia summit clash will take home USD 1.6 million as the winners’ prize money while the wunners-up will get USD 8,00,000. The tournament prize money is the same as that for the inaugural edition of the championship – ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 – a total purse of USD 3.8 million.

WTC Final 2023 Reserve Day

The championship decider will be played at The Oval, London from 7 to 11 June with 12 June the reserve day.

WTC Final 2023 Match Timings

The play will start at 3 PM IST on Wednesday, June 7 followed by 40 minutes lunch break at 5 PM and tea interval at 7:40 PM for 20 minutes. The play will culminate at 10:00 PM daily for the five-day match. It the match moves to reserve day then th same timing will be applicable on that.
