India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: India's star batter Virat Kohli achieved yet another milestone to his stellar career during the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Monday.
Kohli became the fourth batter to complete 27000 international runs, joining the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting.
The star batter went on to break Tendulkar's remarkable record to become the fastest batter to reach 27000 international runs.
He reached the feat in only his 594th international inning, 29 innings faster than the cricket legend Tendulkar.

Sachin got there in 623 innings in 2007.
On the other hand, former Sri Lankan captain Sangakkara achieved the mark in 2015 in his 648th innings while Ponting scaled the mark in his 650th outing for Australia.
Fastest to 27,000 international runs
594 innings – Virat Kohli*

648 innings – Kumar Sangakkara
650 innings – Ricky Ponting
In February last year, Kohli became the fastest batter to 25,000 runs, reaching the mark in 549 innings, 28 quicker than Tendulkar.
In October 2023, Kohli went past 26000 runs as the quickest to the landmark, again bettering Tendulkar's record by 13 innings.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah was quick to congratulate Kohli on the special achievement.

Talking about the ongoing match, Kohli looked good with the bat and played a promising knock of 47 runs in just 35 balls on the back of four boundaries and a six.

Ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh, the 35-year-old has 8871 Test runs in 114 matches at an average of 48.74.
In ODIs, he has scored 13906 runs in 295 matches at 58.18. The batter also has 4188 runs from 125 T20Is at 48.69.
