India vs Bangladesh Test series: After a mammoth 280-run victory in the opening match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Men's Selection Committee has retained the same India squad for the second Test against Bangladesh.
The second Test will be played in Kanpur from September 27. Rohit Sharma, who only managed to score 11 runs in two innings of the first Test, will lead the team.
After the all-round performance from R Ashwin from bat and the ball, the Selection Committee decided to keep the all-rounder in the squad. In the opening match, Ashwin rescued India from a batting slump with his impressive hundred and a-century stand with star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who also has been added to the squad.
Ashwin with the ball orchestrated Bangladesh's collapse with a six-wicket haul for 88 runs in the second innings, enabling India to successfully defend a 515-run target and secure a convincing 280-run victory in the first Test at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who announced his comeback in Test cricket with a roaring century, has found a place in the squad for the second match.
