IND vs BAN, 2024 T20 World Cup: The Men in Blue will aim to qualify for the semifinal of the ongoing tournament in their Super 8 clash against Bangladesh in Antigua. India remained unbeaten so far in the tournament, winning all three group matches and defeating Afghanistan quite comfortably in a Super 8 clash in Barbados on Thursday. India will today face Bangladesh in its second Super 8 encounter.
Since there was a gap of just one day between India's two Super 8 matches, the team management decided to hold an optional training session on Friday. Most of the players gave that session a miss, but skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are going through a lean patch, attended the training session along with Ravindra Jadeja, Sanju Samson and reserve bowler Khaleel Ahmed. Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathour were also present at the training session.
As per a report by RevSportz, the Indian team was involved in a two-hour practice session, in which Samson, who hasn’t played in a World Cup match till now, was seen batting with Rohit Sharma in the nets. Rohit and Dravid were seen observing his practice session and were also seen having a conversation with him sparking speculations that there are high chance that Samson might get included in the playing XI against Bangladesh.

Who will Sanju Samson replace?
There is a high chance that Samson might replace Shivam Dube, who has had a poor string of scores with the bat in the tournament till now. After playing in four matches, Dube has scored 44 runs at a strike rate of 83. What is even more surprising is that Dube, who was selected for the team for his six-hitting abilities, has smashed just two sixes till now off the 53 balls that he has faced.
Due to Dube’s inconsistency, the team management might give Samson a chance, but then the team would have one less left-handed batter in their playing XI, a move that has worked for them till now. This would also mean that the team would have one all-rounder less although Dube has bowled in just one match till now.
The Super 8 clash against Bangladesh will give the perfect chance to the team management to replace Samson with Dube since they will play against an in-form Australian side in their last Super 8 match and at that time they don’t want to have any doubts about their playing XI.
