India vs Bangladesh T20I Series: After India's convincing 7-wicket triumph over Bangladesh in the opening T20I, captain Suryakumar Yadav was beaming as he commended his team for putting their words into action, successfully executing the tactics discussed in the team meeting.
India's bowling duo of Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy played a key role in dismantling Bangladesh's batting order, restricting the visitors to a measly 127 runs.
Suryakumar praised the team's discipline in sticking to their plans, which yielded a compelling triumph.
"We just tried to back our skills and what we decided in the team meeting, we just walked the talk. The way we batted, showed our character," Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation.
Additionally, he voiced excitement about the emergence of young talents, particularly Mayank Yadav and Nitish Reddy, who have rapidly risen through the ranks to join the national team.
"Very excited and looking forward to seeing them in the next games. It's a good headache to have when you are on the field, having extra bowling options," Suryakumar remarked.
Despite his team's convincing victory, India captain stressed the need for constant development and improvement. Although he didn't pinpoint precise areas for progress, Suryakumar indicated that the team would thoroughly review and make adjustments before the second T20I.
"You learn something new every new game. There are always a few areas to improve on, we will sit down and talk about it in the next game," Suryakumar said.
After Arshdeep and Chakravarthy architect Bangladesh's batting collapse, restricting the visitors to 127, India's formidable batting trio of Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya effortlessly chased down Bangladesh's modest total. The Indian batters wrapped up the chase in a mere 11.5 overs.
