Headingley Weather Report, India vs England 1st Test Day 3: Amid weather concerns, England will resume their first innings from 209/3 on the third day of the first Test match against India in Leeds on Sunday. Ollie Pope and Harry Brook will take the crease for the hosts while India will look for an early breakthrough to set the tone.
The second day of the match witnessed a short delay in the start of England's first innings due to rain interruption. England are still 262 runs behind. Pope looked in great touch with the bat and smashed a magnificent century, the ninth of his Test career. He remained unbeaten on 100 runs, which he scored on the back of 13 fours with Brook (0) at the other end.
Ben Duckett also played a magnificent knock of 62 runs before Jasprit Bumrah got the better of him. Bumrah took all three wickets for India as he ran out of support from the other bowlers. Earlier in the match, India scored 471 runs on the back of centuries from Yashasvi (101), skipper Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134) before getting bowled out in 113 overs in their first innings.
IND vs ENG 1st Test in Leeds Day 3, Headingley Weather Report
According to Accuweather, there is a 65 per cent chance of rain on Sunday in Leeds. Showers are expected between 2 and 4 pm in the afternoon, which means the IND vs ENG 1st Test could face an interruption or two during the third day.
However, there is good news as well. Despite there being predictions of rain, more than two hours would not be lost to adverse weather conditions.
