India vs England 1st Test: India's crisis on the field continued on the final day of the first Test against England in Leeds, which allowed Ben Duckett to hit a remarkable century on Tuesday.

Duckett smashed his sixth Test century, having laid the foundation for an incredible run chase for the hosts with a magnificent opening partnership with Zak Crawley. The 188-run partnership was later broken by Prasidh Krishna when he dismissed Crawley for 65 runs in the second session.

Just before reaching the triple-figure mark, Duckett gave India a chance to India to find their first breakthrough. The instance took place in the 39th over bowled by Mohammed Siraj when Duckett was batting on 98. While looking for a boundary on a brilliant bouncer, Duckett mistimed it and managed to hit it towards the deep backwards square-leg. Yashasvi Jaiswal made good ground and reached there comfortably, but couldn't hold onto the catch despite making a promising effort.

The missed chance forced Siraj to scream in frustration. Notably, Jaiswal missed multiple catches in the first innings as well.

Duckett in great touch

Duckett has looked in great touch with the bat in the Leeds Test. After hitting a fifty in the first innings, the left-handed batter not only scored a crucial century but also helped England take control in the run chase on the final day.

The hosts resumed their second innings from 21/0, and Duckett, along with Crawley, turned down every challenge posed by the Indian bowlers. Every time there was any pressure building from the Indian bowlers earlier in the day, the left-handed batter found a way to score a boundary or two to keep the scoreboard going.
