India vs England 1st Test, Day 3: Ollie Pope kept England in the game and probably has given them a chance to stun India in the first Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Pope smashed a remarkable fighting century and remained unbeaten on 148 runs with England finishing the third day on 316/6 in 77 overs on Saturday, January 27.
The right-handed batter came up with another important unbeaten partnership of 41 runs for the seventh wicket with Rehan Ahmed alongside him at the crease for 16 runs.

Even the visitors were left behind once India reached 436 runs in their first innings, they continued to attack since beginning in the second innings and did well to first see out the 190-run deficit and take a promising lead of 126 runs.
Having bowled out for 246 runs in the first inings, England had a brilliant start to their second with a 45-run opening stand with both batters scoring quickly.

Ravichandran Ashwin got the better of Crawley but Ben Duckett got going and stitched a 68-run stand for the second wicket.
Duckett missed out on his fifty as he was dismissed by a stunning delivery from Jasprit Bumrah for 47 runs.
Bumrah was quick to add another to his tally as he trapped Joe Root in front after the star batter had achieved a monumental feat of scoring the most Test runs against India.
Jonny Bairstow looked calm in the middle for a while but decided to leave one off Ravindra Jadeja that crashed onto his stumps.
Skipper Ben Stokes was the next casualty as he had no answer to a peach from Ashwin as he got dismissed for the 12th time against the veteran spinner in the longest format.
The time came for a great partnership between Pope and Ben Foakes as the duo first bailed the team out of trouble and then started frustrating the Indian bowlers.
In the meantime, Pope brought up his century and was keen to add more with Foakes supporting brilliantly from the other end.
The duo added 112 runs for the sixth wicket before Axar Patel got his first wicket of the inning, dismissing Foakes for 34 runs in the 67th over.
Earlier in the day, India managed to add just 15 runs to their overnight score before getting bowled out for 436 runs in 121 overs.
Jadeja was the first one to depart as he became the third Indian batter to miss out on a century, getting dismissed for 87 runs followed by Bumrah's dismissal for 0.
Axar too missed out on his fifty as he was dismissed by Rehan Ahmed for 44 runs with Mohammed Siraj remaining unbeaten at the other end.
