India vs England 1st Test: Indian opener made his grand presence felt with his thunderous knock in the second innings of the first test at Headingley on Monday. During his knock, the 32-year-old batter also displayed his multilingual skills during the course of his innings. Rahul was the top-scorer in India's batting line-up as he scored a magnificent 137 sharing stands with Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant and Karun Nair. What was peculiar is that all three men come from different states, speaking different languages.
It all started with his partnership with debutant Sudharsan, with whom Rahul spoke in Tamil. The Indian opener was heard on the stump mic about some good bounce on the track and he would need to be cautious.
"Machi, nalla bounce irikke. (There is some good bounce on the track.)," Rahul was heard while speaking to Sudharsan.
KL to Sai : நல்ல Bounce இருக்கு மச்சி. 🗣🤩

Pant, who played another miraculous knock in the 2nd innings, was seen constantly talking to Rahul in Hindi during their 195-run stand. The chat revolved around the fact that Pant needed to play carefully as India had the upper hand in the second session.
Karun, who is also a close friend of Rahul, was talking to his mate in Kannada.
While all this transpired, Dinesh Karthik picked it up on commentary stint with Sky Sports, as he explained Rahul's ability to be a multilingual.
"He's speaking Tamil to Sai Sudharsan, speaking in Hindi to Rishabh and now he's speaking in Kannada to Karun Nair. Not only versatile in batting but also in languages," said Karthik.
