India vs England 2nd Test: Jasprit Bumrah had a memorable outing with the ball on the second day of the second Test between India and England at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, February 3.

Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India in the first innings as he took six wickets for just 45 runs in the 15.5 overs he bowled.

He helped India bowl England out for 253 runs to take a heavy lead of 143 runs.

While Bumrah displayed a reverse swing masterclass other than Kulkdeep Yadav's three wickets, former India pacer Zaheer Khan lauded the captaincy on display by Rohit Sharma to bring in his most effective bowler on the attack to put under pressure.

"The move to bring back Jasprit Bumrah was well-calculated. Rohit was proactive after Zak Crawley’s wicket fell and he was aware enough to know that Root had just walked in, and Ollie Pope had done the damage in the previous innings, so bring in your best bowler, create the opportunity and Bumrah reacted beautifully to that opportunity," Zaheer said on Cricbuzz.

Bumrah, who looked lethal in the second session dismissed the in-form batter, Ollie Pope with a lethal yorker crashing onto the stumps.

Zaheer was sure of Bumrah to take wickets with the older ball despite getting hit for boundaries with the new ball.

“The moment Bumrah started that spell, you knew that something was going to happen. The reverse swing was on offer and Bumrah – we know – what he can do once there is any swing on offer. He picked up his pace with every delivery and he was in that moment to make sure that the breakthrough happened for him and that resulted in a big wicket,” Zaheer concluded on the India captain.

In the meantime, Bumrah picked up his 10th five-wicket haul in Tests and also achieved the incredible feat of becoming the fastest Indian pacer to take 150 Test wickets.

India ended the second day with 28 runs under the belt without any loss of wickets as they extended their lead to 171.
