IND vs ENG 5th Test: As many as nine batters have been able to score more than 400 runs during a single Test series for the first time in the history of this format. During the ongoing five-match Test series, five Indian batters including Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, and four English batters including Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, and Harry Brook, have all scored more than 400 runs in this series.

India skipper Shubman Gill is currently the highest run-scorer during the ongoing series. After batting in 10 innings and by smashing four centuries, he has now scored 754 runs. None of the other batters has scored more runs during a Test series between these two teams. Gill, who came into bat at the No.5 position during the second innings of the fifth Test match, had surpassed Graham Gooch's tally.
Gooch had featured in three Test matches against India way back in 1990, where he had scored 752 runs.
During this series, the Shubman Gill-led side had scored 3809 runs, and the host had scored 3175 runs till lunch on the fourth day, when they were 164/3.
If the Ollie Pope-led side can score 180 runs during the second innings, then the total number of runs scored by both teams would reach 7000.
During the 1993 Ashes series, England and Australian batters had scored 7221 runs after playing in six matches. And of these, the Australian batters had scored 3641 runs and the English batters had scored 3580 runs.
