India vs England 5th Test: BCCI, on Thursday, February 29 announced the squad for the fifth and final Test against England with KL Rahul still out due to injury whereas Jasprit Bumrah returned after being rested for the fourth Test.

Rahul, who was expected to be back in the side after missing out due to an injury will be closely monitored by the specialists in London.

"Mr. KL Rahul, whose participation in the final IDFC First Bank Test was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala. The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue," BCCI wrote in the press release.

India already have won the five-match series and are 3-1 ahead, having won the fourth Test by five wickets in Ranchi.

On the other hand, Bumrah who was released from the squad for the 4th Test in Ranchi, will link-up with the squad in Dharamsala for the final match of the series.

All-rounder Washington Sundar, who was part of the squad till 4th Test, has been released from the squad as he will be joining the Tamil Nadu squad for their Ranji Trophy Semi-final fixture against Mumbai, starting March 2nd, 2024.

England kicked off the series with a famous victory in the opening Test in Hyderabad before the hosts bounced back with remarkable wins in Vizag, Rajkot, and Ranchi.  

The fifth and final Test between India and England is scheduled to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala and will commence on Thursday, March 7.
