India vs New Zealand 1st Test: India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah struck early on the final day, dismissing New Zealand captain Tom Latham leg-before-wicket for a duck. Latham's departure dealt a significant blow to the Kiwis' hopes of chasing down the tricky target of 107 in the fourth innings. The start of play had been delayed due to rain at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, adding to the tension.
With New Zealand requiring just 107 for victory, India desperately needed a momentum-shifting moment on Day 5. Jasprit Bumrah delivered it, expertly removing Tom Latham without a score.
The fourth innings resumed with Bumrah delivering a decisive blow, dismissing Tom Latham LBW with his first delivery. A precision-crafted length ball on off-stump swung in menacingly, outsmarting Latham.
The Kiwi captain's miscalculation proved costly as the ball beat his inside edge and thudded into his knee roll. Umpire Michael Gough's instant decision ignited the Bengaluru stadium.

Later, Bumrah struck again, claiming his second vital wicket, as Devon Conway fell victim to his mastery. Bumrah's clever move around the wicket paid off, landing a perfectly paced delivery on middle stump. The ball angled in enticingly before holding its line, dipping slightly to catch Conway off guard. Attempting to play a shot, Conway was squared up, and the ball thundered into his back pad, sealing his fate.
India's pace duo, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj ignited the crowd and revitalized their teammates with a scintillating display of fast bowling. The early wickets put immense pressure on Will Young and Devon Conway, who are now battling to survive the unrelenting onslaught.
