India vs New Zealand 2nd Test: India's star batter Virat Kohli had yet another disappointing outing with the bat as he was dismissed for 1 run in the first inning of the second Test against New Zealand on Friday.

The crowd at the MCA Stadium in Pune was left stunned as Virat departed cheaply early in the second day off Mitchell Santner.

The unexpected instance took place in the 24th over of India's first innings when Santner bowled a low full-toss to Virat.

The former Indian captain tried to slog sweep the delivery but completely missed out before the ball hit the stumps. Virat was left furious as he wanted to make the most of the momentum he got from the knock he played in Bengaluru.

Fans were quick to react and bashed Virat for his wrong shot selection.

After the stumps on day 1, Virat was seen having a go with some knocking as he was the next batter to go in but couldn't replicate what he would've planned.

Virat headed into the Pune Test on the back of a promising 70-run knock which he played in the first Test. However, India lost the match and went 0-1 down in the three-match series.

After opting to bat first, New Zealand were bowled out for 259 in 79.1 overs in their first innings.

India resumed their batting from 16/1 with Shubman Gill, who returned to the playing XI, and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease.
