IND vs NZ: India's star batter Shreyas Iyer will be making a comeback to the national side and might be selected for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which will be held next month, as per a Times of India report. Iyer is currently rehabbing at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and will be staying there at the end of this month.
Iyer will also be playing for Mumbai in the ongoing domestic tournament. He will then join the national team in the ODI series, which will begin in Vadodara.
“We are hearing positive developments around Shreyas. He is very likely to play two games for Mumbai on January 3 and January 6. The final schedule will depend on clearance from CoE, but signs are positive for playing those games in Jaipur," an Mumbai Cricket Association official was quoted as saying to The Times of India.

As per initial reports, Iyer played for an hour last week and didn't experience any pain, and then went to the CoE for more assessment.
He has already begun physical training along with gym sessions post his recovery from his fatal injury.
An abdominal injury had kept him out of action, and he also missed the ODI series against South Africa and the SMAT.
His return to the side is a huge boost for the host and has strengthened their preparation for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Since both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are in sublime form, Iyer's batting at the No.4 position again has strengthened their middle order.
Ruturaj Gaikwad replaced him and also smashed a ton, but including both right-handers in the playing XI will be tough.
The team management will reveal the squad soon after getting clearances for him from the CoE.
