In a heartwarming display of joy, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar broke into a joyous dance at the Dubai International Stadium, celebrating India's thrilling Champions Trophy 2025 victory.

With a four-wicket victory over New Zealand, India's triumph marked the third title in their Champions Trophy history, cementing their claim as the most successful team in the tournament.

The 75-year-old Gavaskar's spontaneous dance celebration captured the hearts of fans worldwide and quickly went viral on social media. In the video, Gavaskar was seen jumping and dancing like a child with infectious joy as the Indian team received their traditional white jackets and the coveted trophy on the podium.

Star Sports presenter Mayanti Langer couldn't help but smile as she stepped aside, while Robin Uthappa seized the moment, capturing Gavaskar's delightful dance on his phone.

Seeing Gavaskar's joy, Star Sports presenter Jatin Sapru asked, "Who is going to stop Sunny ji today?"

Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh replied, "We shouldn't stop him today because this is a wonderful moment. It was fun to watch him. He is a legend and a respected cricketer. It was for him that we all started playing cricket. We were fortunate that those trophies were in our hands. And today, he is living that same feeling again."

Talking about the match, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to bat first. Shepherded by a brilliant Kuldeep Yadav (2/40), Indian spinners aced the conditions but well-timed fifties by Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell steered New Zealand to a competitive 251 for seven.

Daryl Mitchell (63, 101 balls) and Bracewell (53 off 40 balls) navigated the Blackcaps through a turbulent middle phase after they opted to bat first.

In the chase, Rohit led a blazing start to all but end New Zealand’s hopes and stepped up in the finale with an 83-ball 76, featuring seven fours and three sixes.

After captain Rohit, opener Shubman Gill and star batter Virat Kohli's wickets, Shreyas Iyer (48), Axar Patel (29), KL Rahul (34*) and Hardik Pandya (18) stepped up, ensuring India completed the chase with an over and four wickets to spare.
