India vs Pakistan Handshake: What started with Indian players' refusing to do the customary handshakes with their Pakistani counterparts has spiralled into a fresh controversy with PCB demanding the removal of referee Andy Pycroft for future matches in the ongoing Asia Cup. As per Cricbuzz, PCB holds Pycroft responsible for not handling the 'no-handshake' situation well.

For the unversed, India captain Suryakumar Yadav took a brave stance of displaying solidarity with the families of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people. Notably, the terrorists were backed by the state of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had a fiery reaction to the event, seeking an intervention from the ICC (International Cricket Council). PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who succeeded India's Jay Shah as ACC (Asian Cricket Council) chairman.

"The PCB has lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding violations by the Match Referee of the ICC Code of Conduct and the MCC Laws pertaining to the Spirit of Cricket. The PCB has demanded an immediate removal of the Match Referee from the Asia Cup," Naqvi said on 'X'.

As per PCB, Pycroft asked (Pakistan) captain Salman Ali Agha, at the time of the toss, not to shake hands with his Indian counterpart."

According to the report, the PCB has threatened not to play the match against UAE on Tuesday if Pycroft is not removed. The Zimbabwean is the designated match referee for that game as well.

Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema has also filed a complaint with the ACC alleging that it was on Pycroft's insistence that team sheets weren't exchanged between the two skippers as is the norm.
